It seems to me that submission to Allah is higher than to quest for the truth, because all things are possible for Allah, by definition, including contradiction. So there seems to be a cultural readiness to accept contradictions that turn out to be self-serving. Isn’t that the promised reward for the faithful? While other Abrahamic religions encompass contradiction in their beliefs, the problematics are treated seriously, calling for acknowledgment, accuracy, and interpretation. There seems to be a very different prescription for how to treat Man as a faulty vessel for God’s revelations. I appreciate these insights into Islam, but I wonder if a comparative religion approach can shed even more light.
